Product Overview
TELUNSHI T-PMS120A Car Audio Buck-Boost Power Management Unit
The T-PMS120A is designed for car audio power management. It supports buck and boost
conversion, high-current output and regulated voltage supply for aftermarket audio systems.
Key Features
|
All-in-One Buck-Boost |
Boosts low voltage from 9 V and bucks high voltage up to 19 V, adapting to more vehicle power supply environments. |
|
12 V–15 V Adjustable Output |
Output voltage can be set according to the voltage withstand range of amplifiers, DSP, subwoofers and other devices. |
|
120 A High-Current Output |
Ideal for car audio systems requiring high transient current and strong low-frequency dynamics. |
|
Fast Charging for Aftermarket Batteries |
Can be used for supplementary charging or charging assistance of aftermarket batteries. |
|
Isolated from Original Vehicle Power |
Reduces direct impact of the aftermarket system on the original vehicle low-voltage power supply. Actual wiring shall follow the installation scheme. |
|
Thermal Protection |
Thermal shutdown at 90 °C for improved operational safety. |

Interface Description

|
POWER IN |
BAT+: Connect to input positive pole GND: Connect to input negative pole / chassis ground REM: Connect to remote start control FUSE: Fuse protection |
|
POWER OUT |
Connect to the power input terminals of amplifiers, DSP, subwoofers, aftermarket batteries and other devices. Wire according to the terminal markings on the unit. |
|
Voltage regulation |
Adjust the output according to the voltage withstand rating of the rear-end equipment. For traditional audio equipment, confirm the maximum withstand voltage before setting the output voltage. |
|
Remote Output |
Remote Output: Max 0.4 A. For control signals only. **DO NOT** use as a high-power supply terminal. |
Installation
1.Before installation, confirm the vehicle low-voltage system, battery condition, voltage withstand range and total power requirements of audio equipment.
2.Install the unit in a dry, well-ventilated and secure location, away from high temperatures, moisture and impact-prone areas.
3.Disconnect power before connecting to the POWER IN terminal, and ensure correct polarity and control logic for BAT+, GND and REM.
4.Connect the POWER OUT terminal to amplifiers, subwoofers, DSP or aftermarket battery systems. Use cable gauge and fuse rating that match the current demand.
5.Power on without load first and measure the output voltage, then gradually connect loads for testing. Ensure no abnormal heat, protection activation, noise or voltage drop.
6.Secure the wiring harness after installation to avoid loosening, abrasion or contact with moving parts.
Commissioning
Output Voltage Setting
Set the output between 12 V–15 V according to the voltage withstand rating of rear-end equipment. Special systems require confirmation by professional installers.
Load Testing
Test at low volume first, then gradually increase power. Monitor voltage, temperature, protection status and sound performance.
NEV Application
If the original vehicle low-voltage system is high, use the buck function to protect traditional audio equipment. If battery voltage is low, use the boost function to stabilize the output.
Safety Notes

● This product should be installed and commissioned by professional car audio installers.
● Do not** reverse polarity, use over-rated, operate without a fuse, or use in wet environments.
● Output voltage must match the voltage withstand rating of rear-end equipment to prevent protection or damage to amplifiers, DSP, or other devices caused by overvoltage.
● High-current systems must use adequate cable gauge, reliable grounding, and proper fuses to avoid cable overheating or short circuits.
● In case of abnormal heat, odor, smoke, frequent protection, or abnormal output, disconnect power immediately for inspection.
● Power management strategies vary by vehicle type. For new energy vehicles (including Tesla), measure low-voltage and evaluate the power management strategy before installation.
Troubleshooting
|
No output |
Check input voltage, BAT+/GND polarity, REM control wire, fuse and terminal tightness. |
|
Amplifier protection or no power |
Check if output voltage exceeds the equipment rating; reduce voltage and retest if necessary. |
|
Weak bass or voltage drop |
Check cable gauge, grounding, battery condition, total power demand and output current margin. |
|
Alternator whine / noise |
Check grounding point, routing of signal and power cables, isolation from original vehicle power, and equipment grounding method. |
|
Thermal shutdown |
Check installation ventilation, load power and ambient temperature; allow the unit to cool down and troubleshoot before reuse. |
Maintenance & Service
Regularly inspect power terminals, fuses, wiring harness fastening and heat dissipation environment.
Do not disassemble or repair without authorization. Damage caused by incorrect wiring, water ingress, overloading, or unauthorized modification is not covered under the standard warranty.
